Banking basics

As I, the most people that got the TAI for their first time also was the first account they opened, I've been looking for information about the topic but everything is dispersed, so here's my little guide for TAI/Banking:

TAI inside the USB:

Once you've gotten it, the first thing you have to do is activate it, to do this go to the second floor of CB2 in the first office you find going upstairs by the stairs in front of USBmanía and Banco de Venezuela, make the queue -always queues everywhere!- and tell the girl or boy in the box-office that you want to activate your TAI.

You've already activated it, now you have charge it. Go to Caja in the same building floor 1 at the end of the corridor (if you go downstairs by the same stairs) and then toward the right, do not forget your ID every time that you are going to charge. Another thing that you have to take account is that you must specify the service that you are charging.

In the case of the library charge there's a third step, continue your "tour" at BIBL in an office in the right corner of PB, show your TAI and you'll be already registered at the library system.

TAI as a debit card:

Before starting with the explanation of how to activate it and use the account in Mercantil, I'd like to start with the concept of debit card:

The debit card is a plastic bank card 8.5 x 5.3 cm with a magnetic strip on the back that stores information about data access and the balance of money available to the owner on your account, used to perform active financial (increase the balance), passive (reducing balance) or neutral (no increase or decrease the balance available) operations with it. In this type of card the money used is the debit that the owner has in his bank account and not the bank loan as with credit cards. Some banks make agreements with their clients to enable them to take money found, generating a loan with their respective interests.
